Why leather?

In our family, our daughter is drawn to leather like a bug to  bright light.  She is always wanting to chew on it more than anything. So we found a way to make it safe for her.

But it’s not just leather. We found a way to pack vitamins, minerals and nutrients into our products.

This Veg tanned leather is finished with Mimosa.

Vegetable tanned leather is raw leather that is processed by nature found substances- in this case mimosa, and finished into a workable leather hide.

Source

“When we talk about vegetable tanned leather, we are referring basically to a raw leather, generally bovine or sheep, which has undergone a chemical transformation (called tanning) which is characterized by the fact of using only substances that are found in nature, such as tree barks or flowers (the so-called tannins). The purpose of tanning is to make animal skin (putrescible material and in its raw state not usable) rot-proof and usable for the creation of tools and objects useful to man.

Mimosa is unique as it is full of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins A & C, and minerals including Magnesium, Calcium, and Zinc. Which all helps boost the immune system, is a natural anti-fungal, and fight inflammation.

We made sure our suppliers verified that there are no harsh chemicals  in the processing of leather. Only the best and safest when it comes to our babes.

Did your baby stop chewing on it?

Add more Chamomile Tallow. They love this and know it helps them. If they lost interest in the chew, add more of our Chamomile Tallow and they'll start chewing on it just as much if not more than before.

Tallow

Tallow is non-dairy bovine (cow) derived fat. We purchase it already rendered down and food grade. Tallow is high in vitamins A, D, and E, and fatty acids- vital for cellular function and growth as well as immune support and brain function.

Chamomile

Chamomile is a flower that helps in sleep-aid by its soothing and calming affects as well as anti-inflammatory, and used to aid in colic relief.

We infuse the tallow with the chamomile so it has maximum benefits for your babe. Rub a small amount into your leather-

a little goes a long way, and rub it directly onto their gums, apply to rashes or dry skin for relief.

A Little About Beeswax

We use a teeny tiny little bit on the back side to help seal in fibers.

Did you know beeswax is a main ingredients in a lot of the top nipple creams? And you don’t have to wipe off before breastfeeding!

We use beeswax to seal in lose fibers, but it also has lots of benefits.

Source

“Beeswax contains vitamins, antioxidants, and enzymes that benefit the immune system. Beeswax also contains pollen, which is commonly taken as a supplement to strengthen the immune system.”

Source

“Many people choose to eat beeswax (directly, as honeycomb, or indirectly, as an ingredient in processed foods) for health benefits. These perks include relieving pain, lowering cholesterol, reducing swelling and as a treatment for ulcers, hiccups and diarrhea. However, there's little research to show that it's effective for any of these conditions.”

We make sure to get raw, pure beeswax. People from all over the world eat honey comb that is packed full of beeswax- this is in very small amounts and in some of our products we even infuse it with extra extracts that do have a lot of soothing, anti-inflammatory benefits, such as chamomile.

If you are concerned about any reactions, rub chew on a small part of your babies arm to test for an allergic reaction just in case.

Your baby will be drawn to this, and we made it so it’s not only fun for them, but beneficial.

How Do I clean?

Warm water and gentle scrubbing with a towel to clean the surface-

Here’s a trick for you: Put it in the freezer to deep clean; sounds weird but it works. This kills bacteria

But it also will be a nice cold relief on those sensitive gums.

If your Chew Starts to Become Hard

Rub a small amount of tallow into it- don’t worry we sell what you need and extra benefits.

Other oil alternatives are olive, avocado, or coconut. We do not recommend these as we have found tallow to be most efficient.
