About Us

Welcome to our little tribe! Right now, we’re a family of three—just doing life with animals, adventures, and Jesus at the center of it all.

Jamie is the founder of Buckaroo Chew, the lead graphic designer at our home church, an artist, an author, helps other startup businesses, works on fix and flips, and is a passionate horsewoman who loves teaching others how to ride and connect with these amazing animals. Ryan works hard at his job in software and is a programming genius. Together we get the privilege to parent our daughter.

Hazel Ivy—our absolute miracle girl. After seven years of infertility, our pastor prayed over us and prophesied we’d be holding a baby the following year. Three months later, Jamie found out she was pregnant and surprised Ryan on their 7th anniversary. Hazel Ivy came into the world at home, in a peaceful water birth, right as the words “I am a child of God” played during worship. And she truly is—joyful, strong, and already horse- and dog-obsessed, just like us.

We’re working toward building our dream homestead with room to roam in Oregon. For now, we’re loving life in a cozy home in a small town where we aim to give our kids a natural, adventure-filled childhood—rooted in wonder. Whether it’s horses before walking, mountain hikes, or sandy play days, our daughter and future kids are growing up with dirt under their nails and stars in their eyes.

We have two horses—Watson, a chestnut mustang, and Zafira, a golden palomino quarter horse—as well as our husky-wolf Arrow, who’s always ready for the next adventure even in his old age.
